Red lipstick?

i have a fair skin tone and want to try to whole red lipstick trend. should i go for a darker red or a lighter, brighter red?Red lipstick?
fair skinned people should try red lipstick with blue undertones in it, pretty much that just means to make sure it's not orangey or yellowy. you could try sheer red to start out.

covergirl now makes sheer lipsticks that you could try and a personal favorite of mine is loreal color juice stick in cherry freeze.

it really depends on what you're going for. if you want a classic red go with a medium hued color. bright reds tend to be a little harsh on everyones skin and you can always blot slightly darker ones down.

extra tips: for staying power you can put a little foundation around the outside of your lips before application so the color doesn't bleed, then fill in your mouth with either a matching lip pencil or just a coat of the lipstick. then blot with a tissue, and apply another coat.Red lipstick?
Fair skinned people shouldn't really wear red lipstick at all, but if you want to try it no grantees at all that it would look good. I would do a not to Orange-red or super bright red but i would do a sort of pink-red! Try See If You Like It Good Luck!
For the most natural look, aim to match your undertones (yellow or pink). For example, if you have warm, tawny skin, your most flattering shade of red will have an orange or golden base. Those with a fair complexion should choose cool, rosy undertones, try a blue-based red. When in doubt, choose a rich, deep classic red.
Fair skin tones need to pick a red with blue undertones (i.e. ';candy apple red';. Dark/olive complections can wear reds that have orange undertones (i.e. ';fire engine red';). There are subtle differences in reds that can make or break how a red lipstick looks on each individual woman. Since you are fair, always go for the blue-reds (not purple or burgundy though!!). Even Cover Girl and Maybelline offer the ';hot'; and ';cool'; color charts on their make-up now. Go to the local drugstore/WalMart and check them out!! Good luck!!
brighter red, as long as you keep your pale, play up low key natural eyes and make the lips the only powerhouse, you should be fine
brighter red it will look nice
you can go to a makeup counter and test different shades out.
you have to experiement, honey... just see what looks and feels good, and have fun with it. Hopefully you will have better luck than me... with my colouring (dark hair, olive-y skin, green eyes) I can't see any reason for red not to suit me, however it puts about 10 years on me and makes me look like a man in drag...
