What cocktail dress/outfit would go best with red lipstick?

I have brown hair, brown eyes and fair skin. I'm going for the old Hollywood glamour look (red lips) but I'm not sure what hairdo or outfit (dress, bag, shoes...) would look best for my age (I'm i my early twenties and I don't want to look too old or dated.).
